Marine Corps 10K in DC

By Kenny | October 27, 2008

Well, I did it! I ran the Marine Corps Marathon 10K this past Sunday here in DC. 6.2 miles without stopping! Seriously! This was my first distance race event ever. I ran in Mark’s place since he’s running the NY Marathon next Sunday. He had already paid the $50 entry fee and I figured, I’ll be here, nothing else to doooo, free t-shirt… Let me tell you, it was not easy. I’ve never done anything like it. The best part is that I taped myself through the whole event. Yep, I carried a handy little video camera with me the whole time. Below are the first 2 of 5 videos that take you through the whole experience. Go to our YouTube Account to see the others. What a great experience. 30,000 runners in all. It was awesome.

This is hilarious:

Even though she tried really hard, Rebekah wasn’t able to see me start or end the race because of how many people were there. She was pretty bummed. I obviously didn’t see her either. But when we reviewed the clip of me coming through the finish (because she said she was standing right there), this is what we found. I think it’s pretty hilarious. If you pause Video 3 of 5 at exactly 4:37, this is what you’ll see:
